Carolina Vivas
Carolina (pronounced Caroleena) has spent the last eight years studying
and practicing a variety of yoga styles, integrating numerous methods into
her own classes. She received her teacher certification from Atmananda
Yoga in New York City, studying under the direction of Jhon Tamayo, a
Sivananda disciple. She completed additional trainings with Sharon Gannon
and David Life at Jivamukti and Dharma Mittra at Dharma Yoga Center. Upon
moving to Los Angeles, Carolina discovered some of her most influential
teachers - Bryan Kest, Steven Earth, Andrea Marcum, and Shiva Rea. She
began teaching full time at studios in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and
West Hollywood.
At the moment, Carolina calls San Diego and Scottsdale home. She is
working on a series of Yoga DVDs and a website for online classes and
workshops. Over the years, she has appeared in ads for Pony Apparel,
Riviera and 944 magazines, Earthrise Arts, and is featured in Russell
Simmons' "Yoga Live" and "Yoga Radiance" on Amazon. Carolina is a Yoga
Alliance E-RYT that hosts retreats and Teacher Training in Los Angeles,
Joshua Tree, Costa Rica, Fiji, Hawaii, and New York.
Carolina received her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Rutgers
University, spending two years as an analyst at Morgan Stanley before
pursuing her passion for teaching yoga. She is also a certified
reflexologist.
