Amin Rokni
Amin Rokni is Anusara inspired yoga instructor and a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He has bachelor’s degrees in both economics and finance from James Madison University. In 2001, while working as an economic research assistant at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington D.C Amin was diagnosed with lupus. His illness took him off his path as an economist and brought yoga into his life. Through nutrition and a regular meditation, breathing and asana practice, Amin overcame lupus in 2003 and subsequently moved to a yoga ashram to deepen his studies. He left the ashram in 2004 and began teaching Anusara yoga in California.
Amin has studied several hundred hours directly with John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga, completing both levels of his teacher training multiple times, as well as several immersions and therapeutics trainings. Other teaching influences include Desiree Rumbaugh, Doug Keller, Noah Maze and Rod Stryker. His playful teaching style combines bodily alignment principles with yogic philosophy and the wisdom of healing consciousness.
