Maral Hadidi
Maral teaches both nationally and internationally and assists Michael Fukumura in his Anusara Immersions and Teacher Trainings, as well as assists Jenny Klein and Jason Nemer of AcroYoga in their workshops and Immersions worldwide. Maral’s primary teachers are John Friend, Michael Fukumura, Jenny Klein, Jason Nemer, Sianna Sherman, and Darren Rhodes. Teaching since 2000 and practicing since 1994 Maral has studied Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, and in the last 4 years devoted herself to Anusara, and AcroYoga.
Both Anusara and AcroYoga devote themselves to the principles of Attitude, Alignment, and Action, which are also very natural extensions to the Thai Massage practice.
Maral is a skilled Thai massage therapist, practicing for the last 5 years and blends her deep understandings of Anusara, Anatomy, and energetics to create for a therapeutic experience both physically and spiritually. This knowledge translates as well into her classes.
The devotion to community and peace on both a local and universal level are Maral’s intentions for herself and for humanity. The path of Yoga has given Maral tangible evidence and more importantly the energetic evidence to see and be involved in manifesting community and peace building through connection. Yoga is one of the paths to this peace.
Sweet Yogis,
It is with great honor that I will begin teaching at the La Jolla Yoga Center. I’m really looking forward to being a regular face for the times when I’m home here in San Diego. I’m so excited to know this yoga community more intimately. It’s such a beautiful thing!
I wanted to take a moment to say hello to those I haven’t met and big gratitude to those I’ve had the opportunity to play with in classes and workshops. Thank you for supporting the teachings!
The classes I teach are based on the practices of Anusara, AcroYoga, and the pure excitement and joy of living in the body!
Intention
My intention for students is first and foremost to connect with their hearts and the universal energy, but physically to come into a state of optimum health. This physical practice is therapeutic first then radical. I invite everyone to feel safe and supported in my classes. I will love you and take in your own unique embodiment and celebrate it.
Anusara Yoga
Anusara celebrates life embodied! anusara is based on a very refined philosophy of the 5 universal principles of alignment, and the 3 A’s ~ Attitude, Alignment, and Action, which are both spiritual and physical expressions. Anusara is also based on the Tantric tradition of Kashmir Shaivism.
The Anusara philosophy is refined because it allows all of us in our modern culture to align with nature in a way that feels expansive, authentic, and loving. When we align with nature we begin to find out who we really are at the core of ourselves and this is where the greatest pulsation of love lives, in ultimate freedom.
Bhakti Yoga
Bhakti, the longing of the heart to express love in all facets of life. We can practice bhakti in the way we cook our food, to the way we interact with others, but one of the traditional practices of Bhakti yoga is through mantra, or Kirtan. Reciting the names of the divine filled with ancient and potent sound syllables that tap us into a well of love as well as open us up to the full spectrum of our personalities and the experiences of life. Kirtan also promotes an easier access into a seated meditation practice. I incorporate music in all my classes as well as play live harmonium and sing mantra.
Classes
Monday evenings & Tuesday afternoons will be a level 2/3 practice. These classes will teach more intermediate/advanced asanas. These classes use the principles to develop refined stamina and concentration, as well as develop flexibility and playfulness. Classes can be more flowing or poses are held for a length of time. Each class is unique to many things, but usually my classes are created by the students and their progressions and the cycle of the moon. In any case practitioners will learn to still themselves during practice and gain insight and steadiness. Ground in order to create greater freedom within.
Thursday mornings will be similar except it will be more of an all levels class with more modifications as well as being an hour long class.
Acro Yoga
Tuesday evenings is acroyoga!!! NO PARTNER NECESSARY! YOUR PARTNERS ARE WAITING FOR YOU! AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form this practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness. There are 7 main elements that make up the practice: circle ceremony, asana, partner flow, Thai massage, therapeutic flying, inversions & spotting, and partner acrobatics. The highest aim of this practice is to bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this place of mutual support the true self can be realized, celebrated and shared for the benefit of all. www.acroyoga.org
Thank you again for the opportunity to share and grow and I look forward to seeing you in class and around the community.
Oceans of love,
Maral
