Mahamandaleshwar Sri Swami Veda Bharati, D.Litt.(Holland), a renowned philosopher acclaimed internationally for his works, has authored the most comprehensive commentary, a 1400 page on the first two chapters of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Chancellor of one of the largest Hospital Trust Universities in India, he has addressed many UN sponsored sessions: World Peace Summit, World Parliament of Religions, climate change, and sustainable development dialogues around the world. Swami Veda is poet, a prolific author, scholar, research guide and international speaker par excellence.

He teaches meditation from within the religious, spiritual and literary traditions of different world cultures of India, China, Africa, Europe and the Americas. He is the current Spiritual Guide of the Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies International. He has spent the past 63 years teaching and providing spiritual guidance around the world. In 2005 he received the title of Mahamandaleshwar which is the highest level by Swami order. He was raised in the five-thousand-year-old tradition of Sanskrit speaking scholar-philosophers of India, and has taught the Yoga-sutras of Patanjali from the age of nine and the Vedas from the age of eleven.

Swami Veda has studied and is well-versed in the scriptures of all religions, has access to 17 languages with varying degrees of fluency, which allows him to teach meditation to people of different faiths - Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Christians, Muslims, Sikhs - from within their own scriptural and meditative traditions. As he is familiar with all known meditative traditions and the different schools of eastern and western philosophies, the Buddhists are given Buddhist mantras, the Christians are guided in accordance with the rich Christian meditative and contemplative traditions, and so forth.
